Lighting The Way - Dancing For Autism Event

The first mention of Autism dates back to 1887 when Dr. John Langdon Down who was also the first to describe Downs Syndrome described symptoms that now would be classified as Autism today. It was then described as "developmental retardation." In the early 20th century Autism was then described as a symptom of schizophrenia. That changed in the 1940's when it was described as a complex range of neurological disorders. The spectrum is so wide that each individual can have a completely different set of symptoms than the other. One in 68 children are diagnosed with Autism and boys are four times more likely to have Autism than girls.

There is still no cure for Autism, but with early detection and treatment, the symptoms can be reduced and in some cases, completely overcome! Get the facts: (National Autism Association).

Chances are you have a family member or know someone who has Autism. Members on our team have family members who have Autism too so it's our goal to help get the word out. April is Autism Awareness month and we're very happy to contribute to the cause! We have a great show for you and we hope you can join us in raising awareness for this very important cause! Hosted by Ms. Aryanna Draken. In lieu of tips, please make your donations to the Autism Awareness Kiosks. Make us your date destination this weekend! Program information is below, we hope to see you there!
